Later this year, UTC will begin moving booking submission, commission tracking, advisor statements, service fees and travel accounting from TRAMS, ClientBase and internal systems into Tern. The move will give UTC a shared operating foundation for advisors, agency leaders and finance teams. By connecting the work advisors do every day with the accounting, commissions and payments behind each booking, UTC expects to reduce duplicate work, improve financial visibility and create a more consistent experience across the business. UTC conducted a multi-year evaluation of available platforms, looking for technology that could support both advisor workflows and the complexity of host agency operations. Tern stood out for the breadth of its platform and its ability to bring capabilities that often sit across multiple systems into one connected environment. Delivery mattered as much as capability. Tern’s record of executing against its roadmap gave the UTC team confidence that the platform could continue to evolve alongside the needs of a scaled host agency. “Modernizing isn’t useful if it creates more work for the people running the business. We needed a platform our advisors could use every day and our operations team could trust with the money behind every booking. Tern understood those weren’t separate problems.” Betsy Geiser, Vice President, Uniglobe Travel Center For UTC, the transition will preserve financial control while removing manual work from daily operations. Tern’s double-entry ledger will provide the controls operators and auditors expect, while familiar account structures will support continuity for experienced staff. Tern will serve as UTC’s travel sub-ledger and send month-end exports to the parent company’s corporate ledger. With Tern, UTC will connect the handoffs that surround each booking. Advisors and operators will share the same view of payment status, AI will match commission statements to reservations, and Sabre and Amadeus booking files will feed directly into ARC settlement without duplicate entry. Agent billing and payouts will remain connected to the booking from submission through payment. The front-office portion of the transition is already underway. UTC advisors have used Tern’s CRM, itinerary builder and AI tools since April. The next phase will connect their daily work to the accounting, commission and payment systems behind it. “Tern has made a huge difference in my business.
